The AgBMP Loan Program helps landowners take on water quality improvement projects by providing low interest loans. The maximum interest rate is 3%. Loans are secured through local banks who participate in the program.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Farmers, rural landowners, farm supply businesses, and any septic system owner.

All residents in Lake of the Woods County qualify as a rural landowner.

WHAT PRACTICES CAN BE FUNDED?

Septic systems, well relocation and sealing, GPS control systems, flood control, planting and tillage equipment, feedlot improvements, shoreline restoration, variable rate technology, manure management, erosion control, wetland restoration, and other practices that improve water quality.

If it can be tied to water quality protection it is likely eligible!

Application

HOW TO APPLY FOR A LOAN?

Getting on the list for funding is very simple.  Applications are initiated online by SWCD staff after we get a few details and determine if the request is eligible.  Interested parties should have a cost estimate or an idea of total loan needed.  Stop by or call the office to get started!  

Once approved, participants obtain credit approval from a lender that participates in the program.
